Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) have built database for identifying faces and fingerprints to rear up information security industry. This will enable enterprises to share collected information for their business usages, reported Korea Economic Daily on February 24.
MIC is planning to examine the ventured products that each enterprise have developed to recognize fingerprints and facial marks with the data system that the MIC have constructed by gathering personal information from about 1,000 people.
“I am afraid that such technology will egg on the attempt to inspect human bodies as an object for science and that the government will just use this information to control people more easily,” commented an activist from Solidarity of Opposition to Sealing Fingerprints
